Turn on two-step verification
Signing in, two-step verification, sessions and your details.
Two-step verification asks for a six-digit code from an app on your phone each time you sign in, so a stolen password is not enough to get into your account.
Turn it on
- Open Security in your client area.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (for example Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password or Authy).
- Enter the six-digit code the app shows to confirm.
- Save the backup code we show you. Keep it somewhere safe, away from your phone.
If you lose your phone
Sign in with your password, then enter the backup code instead of a six-digit code. This signs you in and turns two-step verification off, so you can set it up again on your new phone straight away.
Wrong codes
After several wrong codes the sign-in attempt stops and you need to enter your password again. Check that the time on your phone is set automatically: codes depend on it.
